Little Drummer Girl

Six Month Check-Up

Just a quick note, I'm supposed to be in bed but I'm breaking all the rules.... Today was my 6 month check-up. In an attempt to learn about new types of measurements, Dad told me that I weigh 1.29 stones and am 6.3 hands tall. Sounds impressive. Well, it puts me at 75% weight and 90% height. I had FOUR shots today and took a long afternoon nap to try to recover. Then the night flew by. Had a quick video chat with Grandpa Hiatt and showed him my sitting skills, before rubbing my eyes like crazy. Sometimes my 7:30 bedtime makes it hard to video chat with my west coast family :) So after sleeping for an hour and fussing for another 30 minutes, Mom decided to give me a pass and I'm playing on the couch with Dad. Maybe I'll sleep later???

I like this look, although my booty tends to hang out.

Mom and Dad got me an exersaucer this past week. Love it so far!

Playing with my Friends

Well, the rest of the week just flew by...guess that's what happens when you are six months old! Sometimes we play so hard that Obi is tired out too :)
It's been cold and I've been trying out new fall outfits. Dad thinks this one is particularly funny, because there is a ruffle at EVERY seam! Plus, I can really pull off the hat.
Saturday we went down to Bluffton to visit the Niemans. Both Hannah and Macie were excited to see me. They introduced me to all sorts of new toys and I got to use their slide which I love!
Macie showed me how to do it first.
Then I took a try!
I love visiting the Niemans! And I got to stay up past my bedtime too :)
Doing the superman move, one of my favorites, with Daddy! Hope you are all having a good weekend...

Six Months!

Just wanted to fill you in on my last few days...
I've been sleeping a lot, trying to beat my cold. Even spent some fun play time on Mom and Dad's bed. Otherwise, today was my 6 month birthday! Nothing too out of the ordinary...did get a mid-day bath (which I loved) due to my huge diaper failure after my morning nap. Had some quality time splashing and getting lotioned up! It was just a little prepping for my photo shoot by Mom and Dad. I cooperated for the most part and only made them dance around a little to entertain me :)
Hanging with my puppy pillow.
Doesn't every baby have 3D glasses?
Hope you all had a great day!!!

I'm a Trooper!

First off, I'd like to show you pictures of me being adorable. So if/when my current cold (thanks Mommy) makes me snotty you'll remember the good times...
I was at the MacKnight's house Friday while Mom and Dad went to the Walleye opener. I was fascinated with their pumpkin, so I took my five dollars from Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Opitz and went shopping. I think it will provide me hours of entertainment.
Grandpa and Grandma Hiatt sent me a box of goodies this past week. I got a set of stacking bowls that are fun and colorful. Also fun to bang on and put in my mouth!
The love affair with the sea horse continues. Daddy said this is one of his best pictures yet.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, on to today. This is day one of full blown cold. Maybe if I beat something up I'll
feel better.
Here's what I've learned about baby colds:
1 ) We don't know how to blow our noses
2) When we sneeze, we then make a very big mess
3) Burp rags can double as tissues (as long as they are rotated frequently)
4) Laying in your own drool at nap time is dangerous to your health (or at least your cheeks)
5) I can impress Mom and Dad by still being in a good mood
So, I'm going to keep my humidifier on and hope for the best! I'll show this cold who's boss!!

High Chairs...Not Just for Eating

Mommy took this a few weeks ago, it still cracks her up!
Oh, and Natalie would like to dedicate this performance to Parker Daniels....she can relate :)

Love my Seahorse!

The favorite toy of the week has been her seahorse. It lights up at the belly, kind of like the old glow worms, and plays nice music (volume control included!). It has made some of our car rides more enjoyable!
I think she also tries to eat it's little nose. Kind of like her game, "don't eat my nose" that she plays with Daddy. Notice the swing has the tray in place now. She was getting very grabby/leaning and looked like we were going for a summersault or dive out of the swing. So the tray stays put!
Don't worry, not on the Coke yet....although it does look like she is making a move to open this one!
What happened to my feet!!!
Snuggled up in one of my favorite blankies....

Beautiful Disaster

It was a very busy weekend....Matt and Amy came up on Friday from Columbus with Parker for a visit. The moms and babies went to the downtown library for an infant activity class Saturday morning. It was full of music and dancing, basically an aerobics class for the moms! Then after a short drop in at home we loaded up the Daniels' MDX and got two babies and four adults down to the Niemans for their pumpkin party. Things were going pretty well, but as I was off my napping schedule I deteriorated quickly by dinner time. Tested my lungs out a few times and it seemed like everyone took notice. Hence the title of my post, it really was a beautiful disaster :) Here are a few pictures from our weekend:
Amy, Matt, and Parker (the good quiet baby)
Family photo op
Hayride time!
The Daniels family pic
Macie helping Natalie out with some toys, when she was in a good mood still!
Aaron, Natalie and Macie
Even today was busy....I took an outing with Dad and the Daniels to Ann Arbor for lunch and a trip to REI. Mom had a baby shower for a friend in town expecting twins. Things were a little rocky today too....just a cranky day. What's up? Mom keeps checking for teeth, but nothing has popped up yet! After some oatmeal cereal (first time tonight, seemed to like it) and a bath I was done for the night. Keep your fingers crossed that I get a good night's sleep tonight!

A Day With Dad...

It was a busy day today... I hung out with Dad while Mom was at work. And then Mom went out with Lori for dinner and to register for Baby Roberts at Babies R Us. By the time Mom got home at 9:30 I was already in bed! I think she did sneak in and give me a kiss goodnight though. Luckily, Mom is off tomorrow and we can spend some time together. We also heard that Mom's cousin Tala is in labor, so I'm going to have another buddy to meet when we are in Seattle this December. Babies everywhere! Here are some pics of what I've been up to the past few days...
Walking in my stroller, without the carseat, like a big girl! I need my hoodie now, it's Fall weather!
Trying out my new cup, getting good with a straw.
Hanging out in the basement with Daddy.
My play tent, constructed by Daddy.
Just being cute!
Strategic photography, thanks Dad!

Future Hockey Fan??

The family packed up and went down to see the new Lucas County Arena today. It will be the home of the Toledo Walleye, which Mom and Dad are going to the opener in a few weeks. I enjoyed the luxury boxes on the third floor and the fact that they had elevators. The stairs are so difficult in my stroller....
Here's the brick we have outside of the arena. Yup, they even got my name on it!
And finally what day is complete without a ridiculous hat... Thanks Auntie Courtiepoo for my rad new monkey shirt. Dad says it makes me look like I have muscles!
Oh, and Mom says no hockey jerseys until I stop growing so fast....

Daddy's Back in Town!

YEAH!!!!
After a long day, getting up before 4 AM Seattle time and having to drive from Columbus to home, Dad showed up before I had to go to bed! He made it for some snuggles and bath time. It was short and sweet, I was very excited to see him as was Mom. While he was gone Mom has had me working on my classical piano skills. Right now I'm still working on finding Middle C, I hear that's important...
